As part of the Energy Policy Act signed in 2005 by
President George W. Bush, the U.S. Daylight Saving Time (DST) schedule has
been revised. This change will extend DST by a total of one month, starting
three weeks earlier on the second Sunday in March and ending one week later
on the first Sunday in November. DST saves energy by lowering the demand
for electricity during the hours consumers are awake.
In order to prepare for the March 11, 2007 change, the
CBOT has evaluated all hardware and associated applications for potentially
altered time stamps, clocks, or otherwise affected functionality. All
technical teams are involved in addressing any necessary changes as well as
verification testing of environments post DST modifications.
System changes have been underway and will continue
through February 25, 2007. These changes will not hinder the normal day to
day business processes.
In summary the CBOT is prepared for the DST change.
Please contact me if you have further questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Steve Dickey
